Greene County Legislature Overcoming Obstacles to Obtaining COVID Vaccines

After significant effort by county leadership, the Greene County Department of Public Health has received our initial shipment of COVID Vaccine doses, and will begin administering this batch this week to individuals identified in Phase 1a of the NYS distribution plan.

As Greene County awaits additional vaccines from New York State, our Legislature and Public Health Department is preparing to effectively distribute them to county residents according to the guidelines set by the CDC and NYS.

Greene County does not control the vaccination distribution schedule, or when vaccines will arrive in the county, but we are working diligently to ensure that all vaccines provided will be distributed to county residents as soon as they are available.

Announcements of the times, places, and phased distribution for vaccines will be posted on the GreeneGovernment.com website, as well through Greene County Public Health and Greene County Government Facebook pages and traditional media outlets.

Please be patient and wait for announcements regarding vaccinations. Please do not call the Public Health Department regarding vaccines as they are already very busy handling an overflow of COVID-19 calls.
