On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law and established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program, which is intended to provide support to State, territorial, local and tribal governments in response to the economic and public health impacts of COVID-19.
These funds provide substantial flexibility for each government to meet local needs—including support for households, small businesses, impacted industries, essential workers, and the communities hardest hit by the crisis. These funds can also be used to make necessary investments in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure.
