Our agency is dedicated to providing the highest quality service to veterans and their families in Greene County.
There are presently 80 Veterans residing in local, long-term care and assisted living facilities. As we know, November has two important holidays – Veteran’s Day when we thank our past military personnel for their service to our country and freedom, and Thanksgiving when we thank God for all His blessings. This month, we hope you will do both holidays and send a card to our Veterans in these facilities. Yes, it is a lot to ask but both are special, and a card would so brighten their day. Deadline for Veteran’s Day 2022 cards will be Monday, November 7 and for Thanksgiving 2022 will be Friday, November 18.
To sponsor a wreath this year, go to WreathsAcrossAmerica.org by November 25.
The Director and staff are accredited, caring, and knowledgeable veteran service officers; as such, they are able to guide veterans and their families in submitting claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Greene County Veteran Service Officers will help you navigate the bureaucracy of the VA, and our services are free. We will help with gathering the information necessary to support a claim, file the claim, and track the claim through the VA system. We can also assist with filing appeals for denied claims. We strongly recommend that you make use of the services provided by County Veterans Service Officers. Our expertise can help you avoid the pitfalls and delays that missing paperwork or improperly filled out claim forms can cause.
