The Greene County Transit System offers safe, affordable, reliable public transportation services throughout Greene County. The Greene County Transit bus provides public service between the Village of Catskill and outlying areas of the County. June 1, 2016 is the debut of the new and expanded Greene County Transit, providing public transportation service to everyone – residents, visitors and employees – in Greene County!
Greene County Transit is very pleased to be able to provide daily service to Athens, Cairo, Coxsackie, Greenville, Palenville and up/down the 9W corridor, to name just a few!
The mountain schedules have been expanded with additional pickup/drop-off locations for the Hunter run on Wednesdays and the Windham run on Fridays.
The shuttle run, within the interior of Catskill, has been expanded as well, with additional places to stop throughout the day.

Greene County Transit has seven, brand new, brightly detailed, buses that are equipped with a wheelchair lift for handicapped accessibility, two-way radios, dual GPS systems, back-up cameras, an internal security camera system, and a public address system. The destination sign system, in the front of each bus and along the side of it, will identify what route the bus is traveling and what towns they are going to.
