COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination at Albany Stratton VMAC

For Veterans who ARE currently enrolled in VA Healthcare

COVID-19 TESTING: If you wish to be tested for COVID-19, please contact your primary care provider at Albany Stratton VAMC or respective CBOC. The VA *IS* providing COVID-19 testing for patients as determined needed by your primary care provider. If your primary care provider is located at the Catskill CBOC, you will be directed to the Albany Stratton VAMC or other community providers associated with Albany Stratton VAMC for such testing. Testing is not currently being performed at the Catskill CBOC.

COVID-19 VACCINATIONS: The Albany Stratton VAMC is providing vaccinations in accordance with CDC, and VHA guidelines. If you are enrolled in VA Healthcare; and, you wish to receive your vaccination, you must contact *your* Albany Stratton VAMC (or Catskill or other CBOC) Primary Care Provider for further instructions. Please disregard misinformation disseminated from other sources. Your VA Primary Care Provider and the Albany VAMC COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will assist you in determining your eligibility and subsequently schedule your vaccination.

For Veterans who ARE NOT currently enrolled in VA Healthcare

If you wish to enroll in VA Healthcare, the Greene County Veterans Service Agency can assist you with the application process.

*Please note: VA Healthcare eligibility is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to: receipt of VA Disability Compensation for a service-connected disability, receipt of a VA Pension for low-income veterans with a non-service-connected Disability, veterans who otherwise meet the national or geographic income threshold, veterans with certain known exposures during military service such as herbicides or radiation, and other factors.

The Greene County Veterans Service Agency does not determine your eligibility; we are a veterans advocacy agency. We are here to assist you in obtaining the benefits for which you are eligible as determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Transportation

Greene County Veterans Service Agency provides courtesy transportation to eligible veterans for routine medical care at regional VA Healthcare facilities; and, some other community and/or private healthcare facilities associated with VA Healthcare, on a case-by-case basis.

Transportation *WILL* be provided for veterans scheduled for vaccinations.

Transportation will *NOT* be provided for COVID-19 Testing, or for anyone exhibiting any signs of symptoms of COVID-19.

Our service is not a medical transport provider. Our staff are not trained as medical providers; and, our vehicles are not equipped with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment, or other medical equipment to provide this level of transport.

*If you are ill, and exhibiting any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, cold, flu, or other communicable respiratory illnesses, please be considerate of our staff and other patrons, by refraining from using this service.
