New Mom and Baby Visits

To help keep yourself and your new baby healthy, a Public Health Nurse is available to visit your home and provide teaching and guidance for you and your baby.  Education in growth and development is provided, along with the following:

  • Home visits during pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding and bottle feeding instructions
  • Bathing of infant
  • Circumcision care
  • Care of infant’s cord
  • Temperature taking/when to call the doctor
  • Well child care
  • Lead testing
  • Evaluate infant’s reflexes
  • Immunization schedule and vaccine information
  • SIDS/”Back to Sleep”
  • Early Intervention Program
  • Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)
  • Postpartum follow up care, including screening and education for postpartum depression

  • Breastfeeding advice:  positioning, sore breasts, latching, infant growth, and more
