NYS Issues Detailed Requirements for Business Reopening in Phase 1

The official NY Forward COVID Response website has been updated to include a set of detailed requirements for businesses to open under Phase 1 beginning Friday, May 15th in regions that have met all 7 metrics for reopening.  These regions include:

  • Finger Lakes
  • Mohawk Valley
  • North Country
  • Southern Tier

Greene County is part of the Capital Region which has not yet met the 7 required metrics – Click Here to Check Status

The State’s Phase 1 requirements apply to the following industry categories:

  • Construction
  • Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing & Hunting
  • Retail Trade (Limited to Curbside or In-Store Pickup/Drop-off
  • Manufacturing
  • Wholesale Trade

New York State has provided extensive guidelines that businesses are required to read and affirm their “obligation to operate in accordance with this guidance.”

Three interactive documents are available online that enable each business to: View Summary Guidelines, Read and Affirm Detailed Guidelines, and Print a Business Safety Plan Template.

The Greene County Economic Recovery Team has created a new Reopening Greene webpage with links to the most up-to-date information, plans and NYS requirements for businesses at GreeneCountyEDC.com ‎
