Greene County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will reopen on Monday, December 14 Amidst the Increase in Covid Cases

On December 14th, 2020, the Greene County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated in response to the predictions from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) that the number of positive COVID-19 cases will continue to rise. The County has seen an uptick in positive COVID-19 cases over the last month. New York State Public Health Officials have predicted another spike before the upcoming holiday season due to the lack of social distancing over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Greene County Emergency Operations Center is activated when large-scale events impact the community such as COVID-19. The Operation Center provides resources, coordinates disaster response, and distributes important material. The EOC will help disperse important information and other duties from the Greene County Public Health. The Public Health office is extremely busy, so to help offset some of the demand currently on PH employees the County has redirected staff to assist with some of their workload caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The EOC will be handling general Covid inquiries such as non-medical questions, travel restrictions, isolation, and quarantine rules.

Please visit our updated Covid-19 Procedures and Informational page prior to calling the EOC. This will reduce network congestion and queueing delays.

EOC Phone Number: 518-635-5165 (for general Covid inquiries such as non-medical questions, travel restrictions, isolation, and quarantine rules.
