On Monday, October 19th, our Public Health Department will be setting up a COVID-19 Testing Pod for employees of the NYS Prison at Greene Correctional Facility.
Public Health officials offered to provide employee testing on-site at the prison at the first indication of the outbreak, and Greene Correctional Facility initially declined the offer. However, persistent efforts from our Public Health team resulted in an approval by the Department of Corrections to allow GCPH staff on-site.
The Greene County Legislature and our Public Health team is committed to ensuring the safety of our communities and has taken this proactive measure to respond to this public health concern.
This Testing Pod is for Greene Correctional Facility Employees Only.
The testing of inmates is the responsibility of the New York State Prison System
