Each exam announcement for a specific job title provides information on the minimum qualifications required to take the exam, including whether or not there is a residency requirement. Please read carefully. Candidates must meet these qualifications in order to take the exam.
Candidates for examination must complete an application form and submit it with an application processing fee to the Civil Service Department. A copy of this form is available on the Civil Service Department webpage or by following the link below. After you apply, an assessment will be conducted by the Civil Service Department to determine whether or not you meet the minimum qualifications and are approved to take the exam.
There are a few County jobs that do not require a competitive Civil Service exam. Please check the “Positions Available in Greene County Government” link below to view vacancy announcements for these job titles. All applications for these positions should be submitted directly to the Human Resources Department.
